Infrastructure compliance
Sourcetable’s infrastructure is built on services and providers that maintain SOC 2, HIPAA, and PCI compliance certifications.
Encryption
Data at rest
All stored data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. This includes:- Workbook content and formulas
- Uploaded files
- Connected data source credentials
- User account information
Data in transit
All data transmitted between your browser and Sourcetable servers is encrypted with TLS 1.2+.Credential encryption
When you connect databases or APIs, your credentials are encrypted using one of two modes:| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Standard symmetric | Credentials encrypted with AES-256 symmetric encryption managed by Sourcetable |
| PGP encryption | Credentials encrypted with your own PGP public key — only you can decrypt them |
Access controls
- Authentication — Email/password, Google OAuth, or SSO (Enterprise)
- Organizations — Team-level workspaces with admin roles
- Sharing permissions — Control who can view or edit each workbook
Data handling
- Connected data is queried in real time — Sourcetable does not permanently store your database contents
- File uploads are stored encrypted and accessible only to your account
- AI conversations are processed by Sourcetable’s AI infrastructure and are not shared with other users
Enterprise security
Enterprise plans include:- SSO — SAML-based single sign-on
- Dedicated support — Priority response from the security team
- Custom data residency — Choose where your data is stored
- Audit capabilities — Track user actions across your organization
