To save a single worksheet out of your Excel workbook as a new file, right-click the worksheet name tab. Select 'Move or Copy' from the context menu. In the 'Move selected sheets to Book' drop-down menu, choose '(new book)'. Click 'OK'. This action moves the worksheet to a new workbook. In the new workbook, click 'File' > 'Save' or use the shortcut Ctrl + S to save.
If you want to keep a copy of the worksheet in the original workbook while saving another copy as a separate workbook, make sure to check the 'Create a copy' checkbox in the Move or Copy dialog box. This will place the worksheet in both the original and the new workbook.
Remember to save your work frequently. For initial saves or when saving your workbook in a new location or as a separate file, use the 'Save As' option. Be aware, if the workbook contains macros and you save it as a regular workbook, the macros will not be preserved.
