How to Export Your ACT! Database

Accessing the Export Wizard

To begin exporting your ACT! database, navigate to the export feature by clicking on File, then Data Exchange, and select Export. This will launch the ACT! Export Wizard, which is your first step to efficiently exporting your data.

Naming and Specifying Your Export File

Once in the Export Wizard, assign a clear and identifiable name to your export file. Next, specify the type of ACT! records you wish to export. Select "Contact records" for a focused contact list export.

Export Options and Field Mapping

In the export options, select "Text Delimited" as the file type and choose "Comma" for separated data. Ensure you check the "Export field names" option to include field names in your export. During field mapping, meticulously remove any fields that are not needed for your ClientLook® CRM import.

Completing the Export

Review the fields to ensure all necessary data is included. Click "Finish" to complete the export process. The result will be a CSV or Excel file ready for import into your CRM or for other data management purposes.

Additional Export Information

The ACT! export function is thorough and generally provides all the data you may need. However, if you require a more comprehensive data set, consider using the Exporter for ACT tool. Please note that this tool has a cost of $280 and is the sole alternative for exporting all data from ACT.
