# Image generation

> Generate images with AI directly in your Sourcetable spreadsheet.

Sourcetable's AI can generate images from text descriptions using the `generate_image` tool. Created images can be embedded in your spreadsheet or exported for use elsewhere.

## Generating images

Ask the AI to create an image:

* "Generate a logo concept for a fintech startup called 'PayFlow'"
* "Create an infographic showing the 5 steps of our onboarding process"
* "Generate a chart-style illustration comparing our three pricing tiers"
* "Make a professional header image for a quarterly report"

## Use cases

* **Presentations** — create visual assets for reports and slide decks
* **Prototyping** — mock up UI concepts or product visuals
* **Marketing** — generate creative assets for campaigns
* **Documentation** — create diagrams and illustrations for guides
* **Data storytelling** — pair AI-generated visuals with your analysis

## Tips for better results

* Be specific about style: "minimalist", "professional", "colorful", "corporate"
* Specify dimensions or aspect ratio if it matters
* Describe the content clearly — what should be in the foreground, background, etc.
* Iterate: ask the AI to modify or regenerate with adjusted descriptions
